Dr. Allison Han

Allison Han, MD

Dr. Allison Han is a board-certified dermatologist and highly trained in medical, pediatric, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She has a particular interest in pediatric dermatology, for which she has completed a fellowship at Rady Children’s Hospital, one of the top pediatric dermatology training programs in the country. Born and raised in San Diego, Dr. Han was a patient at Bernardo Dermatology growing up, and she is both thrilled and honored to now have the opportunity to provide care for the community in which she grew up.

Dr. Han completed her undergraduate degree at Harvard University, where she graduated cum laude, and subsequently pursued research at Massachusetts General Hospital. She returned to San Diego to attend medical school at the University of California, San Diego, during which time she also completed a research fellowship at Rady Children’s Hospital. She then went on to complete her Dermatology residency at UCSD, and her Pediatric Dermatology fellowship at Rady Children’s Hospital. She is highly trained to diagnosis and treat hundreds of different skin conditions such as eczema, acne, psoriasis, hair loss, vitiligo, hemangiomas, and melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers to name a few. She has published and presented her research in dermatology at multiple national conferences.

Dr. Han is passionate about partnering with her patients to create individualized treatment plans. She believes that listening closely to her patients’ concerns, preferences, and goals is what results in outstanding care. Particularly in adolescents, she understands that skin plays a large role in shaping how they see themselves and interact with the world, and she strives to have all her patients feel comfortable and confident in their skin!

Outside of work, Dr. Han enjoys spending her free time with her husband Dr. Alvin Shieh, an orthopaedic surgeon, and their two young kids, going to the park, building train tracks at home, and other fun crafts!
