Dr. Ashley Rubin is board-certified in both Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery; she is a fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. She is originally from Tennessee and grew up on a farm. She completed her undergraduate degree, under scholarship, at Vanderbilt University, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She obtained her Medical Degree at Vanderbilt School of Medicine, then traveled west, with her husband, for her internship in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Next, she completed her residency in Dermatology at the UCLA. She acquired additional training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, cosmetics, and laser and light-based therapies though her fellowship in Procedural Dermatology at UC San Diego. During her fellowship, Dr. Rubin and her husband fell in love with San Diego and decided to make it their home.
She enjoys volunteering and has participated in medical volunteer activities both in the U.S. and abroad. She has co-authored book chapters in surgical, cosmetic, and transplant dermatology; published journal articles in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology; and presented at local and national conferences. She also served as a board member for the Dermatologic Surgery Association of San Diego. She is passionate about skin cancer prevention and enjoys educating and developing long term relationships with her patients.
Dr. Rubin and her husband, Dr. Joshua Rubin, love the outdoors and being able to take advantage of southern California’s wonderful climate. They have two boys and feel so grateful to be able to explore the world with them!
