Dr. Julie Gladsjo

Dr. Gladsjo is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery.

A Northern California native, Dr. Gladsjo earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine. Initially focused on academic and clinical research, she completed a Ph.D. at Auburn University, published many scientific papers, before deciding that she was more suited to hands-on patient care. She studied medicine at the University of California, San Diego where she graduated among the top of her class, earning scholarships, and high honors in multiple subjects. She completed a medical internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, and then went on to complete her Dermatology residency at UC San Diego, where she served as Chief Resident. After completing her residency and attaining Board certification, she pursued advanced fellowship training in Dermatologic Mohs Micrographic Surgery at UC San Diego. In addition to working in private practice, Dr. Gladsjo has an appointment as Clinical Instructor in Dermatology at UC San Diego and at the VA Clinic in Oceanside, where she performs Mohs and dermatologic surgery. In addition to teaching medical students and residents, Dr. Gladsjo lectures nationally on dermatology at medical education conferences. Her passion for teaching is also reflected in the time she spends with her patients, believing that understanding is the foundation for the best possible outcomes. Her patients benefit from her application of the latest medical advances in dermatology, as well as her warm, compassionate care, and attention to detail.
