Dr. Leanna Hansen is a board eligible dermatologist and member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Contact Dermatitis Society. She completed her undergraduate studies at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana in Cell Biology & Neuroscience where she graduated summa cum laude. She then went to medical school and dermatology residency training at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and completed a year of residency internship at University of California Irvine in internal medicine. Dr. Hansen has won awards for teaching, has presented at multiple national dermatology conferences, and came in second place at the national American Contact Dermatitis Society Contact Allergen Bee.
Dr. Hansen focuses on treatment and prevention of skin cancer, skin cancer screening exams, treating eczema, contact dermatitis, psoriasis and acne, patch testing for contact allergies, as well as cosmetic procedures such as Botox, fillers, chemical peels and intense pulsed light. She performs cutaneous excisions, electrodesiccation & curettage, shave biopsies and punch biopsies.
As a San Diego native, she enjoys swimming in the ocean and hiking (with plenty of sun protection!) with her husband, local pediatrician Dr. Ian Wong, her family and her dog.
